The Cave Millipedes Category And The Relationship With Environment Of Lijiang River Basin In Guilin

In this paper,the millipedes in the caves of the Lijiang River Basin of Guilin were investigated,and the millipedes' category,quantity,distribution and environment were analyzed.129 millipedes were collected from17 caves,belonging to 3 families and 5 orders of 15 categories,105 female,14 male,accounting for 81.40%and 18.60%,respectively.The appearance of alcohol preserved specimen are gear shape,spherical shape,helminth shape and flat ribbon shape.The colors of millipedes contain white,light brown,brown,dark brown,black,pink.Their body length between 8.94-112.94mm,head width between 0.81-5.03mm.Antenna can be inverted up as far to the seventh segment.Collum width between 0.60-6.43mm,antenna length between 0.92-8.70mm.The numbers of legs between 14-114 pairs,leg length between 0.70-8.33mm.Diameter of ring of mid-body between 0.85-7.00mm.Paranotas include antler shape,papillary shape,spine shape and wing shape.Temperature of varies light zones where the millipedes were collected range 15? to 26.1?,and the humidity range 52.7%to 93.1%.As to horizontal distribution,15 species were collected in the light zone,which accounting for 11.63%,114 species were collected in dark zone,accounting for 88.37%,no millipede was recorded in reflection light zone.In vertical distribution,1 species was collected from cave roof,accounting for 0.78%.45species were recorded from the bottom,accounting for 64.34%.Refer to the situation of specific location of millipedes,7 species located in a humid environment,accounting for 5.43%,122 species located in a dry environment,accounting for 94.57%.5 kinds of millipedes micro-habitat were recorded during the research,they are soil,rock,wood,bat feces and animal carcasses.70 species were collected on the surface of rock,accounting for 54.26%,42 species were on the surface of soil,accounting for 32.56%.And the rest species were collected on the surface of wood,bat feces and animal carcasses,accounting for 5.43%?5.43%and 2.33%,respectively.According to the research results,the horizontal distribution of millipede,with more activity in the dark zone,and light may the main factor which cause the cave millipede horizontal distribution pattern;vertical distribution,more millipede prefer to the bottom,It is probably mainly due to millipede body size and food abundance.In the aspect of relation to temperature,the amount of millipedes is related to temperature,which the quantity of millipedes increases with the increase of temperature,to a certain extent.From the statistics,moist environment is more attractive to millipede,the correlation coefficient of Spearman between humidity and the number of millipedes was 0.602,which shows they are significantly correlated.In terms of micro-habitat selection,millipedes were clustering in wood,bat feces and animal carcasses,but was mainly distributed on the surface of rocks.There was no significant correlation between the content of soil related elements and the number of millipede,but was negatively correlated with Cu.
