Daying uranium deposit in Inner Mongolia is the largest in-situ leachable sandstone type uranium deposit have found in China now.At present, the research on the basic geology, geophysics and geochemistry of the area is abundant. However, the application of remote sensing technology to uranium exploration is relatively less.Ordos Basin is rich in resources, including a large number of oil, natural gas and coal resources,at the same time,it contains a large number of sandstone type uranium deposit.Daying uranium deposit located in the northeast of Ordos Basin and in the metallogenic belt in central Asia which in the northeast of Maowusu Desrt. The region is rich in resources,it contains a great deal of oil, gas, coal and other resources,it also contains large-scale sandstone type uranium deposits. It belongs to the typical erosion and accumulation landform of the plateau. In the study area, the vegetation coverage was less, and the bare part of soil was more. And the mineralization alteration is often used as an important indicator for mineral exploration. Therefore, the Daying uranium deposit area is selected as the study area. The study draw lessons from the theory of micro-seepage of oil and gas and the results of previous of studies. In the study, remote sensing technology is used to extract mineralization alteration information related to mineralization in the study area.It plays an important ro le in uranium exploration in the study area.In this study, multi spectral ASTER image and hyperspectral Hyperion image are selected as the data source, and the theory of micro-seepage of oil and gas.In the study, the theory of micro-seepage of oil and gas is combined with uranium exploration innovatively. The study is based on remote sensing image processing software ENVI.According to the different characteristics of the two kinds of data and geological survey,we propose a procedure for the indentificat ion and extraction of alteration information suitable for the study of multispectral and hyperspectral data in the region. After a series of pretreatment of the raw data, such as atmospheric correction,it can eliminate the interference in the original data, and obtain higher quality reflect data. After analyzing the reflection and absorption characteristics of ASTER image and Hyperion image, principal component analysis(PCA)and spectral angle mapping(SAM)are used to extract the alteration information related to uranium mineralization in the study area. The results of the alteration information mapping and the basic geological data of Daying uranium mining area compared and analyzed. The results shows that the majority of mineralization alteration information extracted from the study area can be used as a prospecting indicator in uranium exploration. With the deepening of uranium exploration,it can provide scientific basis and technical reference for the application of remote sensing technology in the mining area of Daying uranium mine.
