In recent years,the serious haze and other air pollution incident occurred frequently,which can not only harm the human health,but also reduce the visibility,made great inconvenience to people's daily life and travel.Therefore,there are great necessary to govern the air pollution.To grasp the diffusion and migration law for air pollutants accurately can provide premise and basic data for the governance of air pollution.Atmospheric diffusion model is an important tool to study the diffusion process of pollutants,which can predict the concentration of pollutants around the sources according to the sources' position,amount of emission and local meteorological conditions.However,most of the diffusion model output the calculation result in form of data text file,which is inadequate in expression and difficult to understand for non-professionals.Geographic information system is the tool that can store and manage the geographic information such as meteorological,terrain,population and others,it has a strong ability in space expression,but lack the ability of data analysis and processing.According to the strengths and weaknesses for the diffusion model and geographic information system,after the through study on basic structure of Gaussian diffusion model,the determine method of parameters,and the secondary development method of GIS,a new air pollutants diffusion simulation system was designed and implemented in this paper,which combined the diffusion model and geographic information system closely to achieve the complementation in function.With the common user interface,the diffusion model can get the necessary data such as meteorological,terrain from the geographic information system,while the geographic information system visualize the calculation result of diffusion model in form of contour and surface area.Meteorological data of January and February of 2014 in Jixian,which got from the environmental protection things of Tianjin,was used to verify the diffusion system.Results show that the system can exchange the data between diffusion model and geographic information system inner the system,which is easy to operate and can get a low error rate.The new developed system can reflect the affected area and polluted degree directly,and can also do some necessary inquiry and analysis based on the diffusion result.In order to verify the function further,the system was applied in Tianjin Environmental Protection Bureau for test,results show that,the system is stable,result calculated by the AUSPLUME have a good agreement with the actual monitoring results,by the visualization,we can get the polluted area intuitively.The system can not only provide strong support for the research and government for air pollution,but also provide decision support for emergency treatment of sudden air pollution.The function and performance of the system had been recognized by the staff from Tianjin Environmental Protection Bureau.
