The Research Of Heraclitus Epistemology

Among the natural philosophers in ancient Greece,there is a very important one——Heraclitus.We can see the original form of rational thought from his theory.And he thinks that human awareness depends on the logos,this also is the original form of epistemology.Since then,just like Kant established reason kingdom through criticizing reason,Heraclitus criticizing the well-informed real principle so as to clarify the understanding.The topic and scope of this article is about Heraclitus epistemology.Compared with the contemporary Greek philosopher,Heraclitus' s epistemology is the closest to the modern epistemology.His epistemology has emerged in some elements of modern epistemology and characteristics such as self-consciousness,object consciousness,awareness formed conditions and so on.Heraclitus epistemology and contemporary natural philosophy and cosmological thought is inseparable,even we should talk about his epistemology within these frameworks.Heraclitus regards soul as a main body of human,because soul and fire,which is treated as a primitive,all have the same properties of the material.The understanding of the human also can change according to the properties of the material.Although restricted by the material properties,soul has the logos to improve itself.This ensures the possibility to improve human's awareness ability.Although people practice in secular life,as human we would ask a question of how to “get to know myself”.Heraclitus also concerned about this.When it comes to know itself that he argues that we should know his own self to find our own understanding ability.So only deeply examines the ego to realize the “ understanding ” itself is the precondition condition of cognitive activities.Heraclitus aims to clarify the relationship of mechanism of understanding and self.If you want to achieve,you must have self-consciousness and object consciousness.Have the consciousness of object is the premise of people must be on the self-consciousness.Heraclitus it will know to apply object consciousness of self-awareness,and then established the epistemology.In addition,Heraclitus epistemology has its own opinions about “one” and “some”.He thinks that the understanding of the people is “one” instead of “some”.The “one” and “some” as a specialized subject of epistemology to discuss this point of view,he is a pioneer of epistemology.Finally,Heraclitus epistemology uniqueness is undoubtedly in the contemporary Greek philosopher in the transcendence of epistemology.In the shadow of the divine reason,cannot be regarded as granted by the emergence of Heraclitus to see previous not understand wisdom was thus began his criticism,then guiding people from the agnosticism and empirical to knowability and rationalism.
