With the further development of land resources survey and marine geological work such as marine regional geological survey,major coastal zone geological survey and evaluation,marine oil and gas survey,offshore sand survey and related resource potential survey.How to efficiently and conveniently carry out the investigation and coring of the marine geological survey has become an urgent problem to be solved.As the basis of marine exploration and development,ocean drilling and coring plays a vital role to make full use of marine resources for nation,but lack of deep water and ultra-deep water coring technique has become a bottleneck restricting the exploration of marine resources.The survey of marine geology and marine resources abroad carried out earlier,they have an all-round chose for coring tools.But the design drawings and manufacturing processes are tightly sealed and not for sale.Therefore,we must develop coring tools with independent intellectual property rights,such as different kinds of coring tools for different rocks,in order to meet the needs of marine geological survey and evaluation for our nation.This paper analyzed the key points of coring technology for sediment stratum through the research of the domestic and foreign ocean drilling and coring tools.The design and manufacture of piston coring tool have been in progress for a realization of high quality and high efficiency coring tools and technology with independent intellectual property rights.The final optimized piston coring tool has been successfully applied in China's northern slope of the South China Sea at the depth of 1720 m,which completed the 100 m continuous drilling operations and was China's first deep water coring drill at that time.The results show that: China has carried out independent ultra-deep water drilling operations,the piston coring tool fill the technology gap,the main performance indicators and functions have reached the international advanced level.It can be very good to meet the needs of deep water and ultra-deep water drilling and coring,and be applied widely in marine geology,resources survey and other scientific research.In the paper,through the investigation and analysis of theoretical research,scientific computing,drawing design,manufacturing and real improvement of experiments,technique and the technical route were implemented.Study on the working mechanism,key parts,design and manufacture,experimental verification of piston coring were made to complete the research and explore the drilling process.
