In order to conduct research on equatorial Pacific westerly wind burst event(WWE)which is vital to the triggering of El Ni?o and based on the ERA-Interim wind data,NCEP2(NCEP-DOE Reanalysis 2)wind data and OI(NOAA OI SST V2 High Resolution Dataset)sea surface temperature data,the study analyzes on the WWE feature and the relationship between the WWE feature and the sea surface temperature.The results shows that,at the beginning,WWE mainly locates in the middle and west Pacific Ocean.In addition,it has different performance in different seasons,with the strongest amplitude and frequency in spring and winter,the weaker in summer and weakest in autumn.Its frequency and amplitude share the feature of the annual variations,compared with frequency,the amplitude is more closely related to the sea surface temperature.WWE which is concerned with El Ni?o mainly locates in the middle Pacific.When the Ni?o 3.4 index is higher than one degree,its frequency and amplitude is closer to sea surface temperature.When it is lower than one degree,there is much uncertainty in its frequency while the relationship between WWE amplitude and sea surface temperature remains close.As a study of WWE feature analysis this paper can deepen the deep understanding of air-sea interaction.Based on the eddy energetic energy analysis,ENSO signal can affect the occur of westerly wind burst event through baratropic conversion from the large scale to the small scale and the large scale convection.And better to understand the westerly wind burst event,we evaluate the westerly wind burst space and temporal variations in the CMIP5 models.The results show that MPI-ESM-LR can well obtain the westerly wind burst event characteristic in reality.And through data analysis,they show the good relationship between the westerly wind burst event annual variation and Ni?o3.4 index.That better proves the westerly wind burst event can be affected by the ENSO signal.
