Mount Taibai, the main peak of Qinling Mountains which separates the south China and it's climate from the north, located in humid warm temperate climate zone, is susceptible to climate change. Larix chinensis exclusively pertains to this climate zone, suffers a little from human activities while keeps sensitive to climate change. Thus, we can typically investigate the impact of climate showed on plant cover in this climate zone.In different altitude, our paper choose Larix chinensis tree rings of 6 sampling sites over the north slope of Mount Taibai, measure the width of tree rings and do cross-dating by using LINTAB6 after pre-processing, and model 3 tree-ring width chronologies in different altitude. We also analyze the different responses that Larix chinensis tree rings give to climatic elements. Finally, we rebuild the average temperature of March-May, June and March-June in the last 180 years in Mount Taibai as follow:(1)In different altitude, Larix chinensis tree ring width chronologies include abundant environmental information and climate signals, and Larix chinensis can serve as Dendrochronology material to analyze the responses to climate change and climate reconstruction.(2)Statistical characteristics and statistics of 3 tree-ring width chronologies in different altitude present obvious changes in altitude gradient, Larix chinensis of different altitude vary dramatically on adaption to climate change.(3) Larix chinensis tree ring width has positive correlation to the monthly average temperature especially in March-April, June while negative correlation to the average monthly precipitation, especially in April and June.(4)When altitude increases, climate factors to restrict the radial growth of Larix chinensis tend more to be precipitation than temperature. Larix chinensis of lower middle sampling sites are comprehensively affected by temperature and precipitation and show good coherent responses to temperature and precipitation, which differs from upper sampling sites. The radial growth of Larix chinensis of lower middle sampling sites are restricted by temperature while restricted by precipitation in upper sampling sites.(5)We model the reconstruction formular of average temperature of March-May, June and March-June in the last 180 years and pass stability test. Then we choose March-June for its significance and good degree of fitting and we derive the first 60a major period of fluctuations with 20a,12a period of fluctuations, which tend to decrease. There exists clear warm and cold time periods and climate break-out point.
