Songshu Town is located in Baishan City in Southern Jilin province, terrains in the east section of northern edge of the North China Platform, in the binding site of the Taizi River-Hunjiang depression sag and Jingyu Tieling uplift. In this region,metallogenic condition is superior. The study area possesses high degree of geological works, but the mineral exploration is more focused on non-metallic minerals, such as coal mines, etc. In order to further identify the mineral resources and expand prospects in the region in the paper, This paper gives analyses and studies systematically on the geological, geophysical, geochemical,remote sensing and mineral resources of the area. We derive the existing information on geological, geophysical, geochemical and remote sensing information,predicte the favourable mineralizing region and indicate the direction of the prospecting work in the future.The strata exposed in the area are mainly consisted of 29 stratigraphic units, which are new Archean Longgang rock group, ancient Proterozoic Laoling rock group, Neoproterozoic Xihe group, Hunjiang group, Paleozoic,Mesozoic,Cenozoic.The magmatic activities related to gold mineralization in the area are mainly Yanshania, mineralization phenomenon is obvious between monzonitic granite-porphyry?syenogranite and Paleozoic-Mesozoic stratum contact area, which is the favorable sites for the production of gold deposit, based on field observations and research.Combined petrology and earth in the Proterozoic and early Cretaceous magmatite chemical characteristics,the comprehensive analysis shows that two magmatite are Metaluminous peraluminous-high-k calc alkaline rock series,which have the characteristics of type I and emerge a trend from the high potassium calcium alkaline series to the potassium Xuan rock series. This is also likely to be influenced by the late alteration. Main elements and trace elements characteristics show that two magmatic rock have the feature of island arc magmatic.U-Pb isotopic dating results show that intrusive rocks are mainly paleoproterozoic and early cretaceous in this area.The structure in the area is developed, which is mainly fault and fold. Outputs of gold were located in NE trending, EW trending faults and Songshu town South Hebei syncline and ancient Proterozoic metamorphic rocks near the contact zone.Aeromagnetic anomaly features study shows that: the positive and negative alternation appearance of the air magnetic anomaly and aeromagnetic anomaly has a significant gradient in the associated region between positive and negative anomaly. The abnormal positive and negative alternate parts may be affected by the fracture or alteration zone, which is favourable for metallogenesis.In the area, 1:50000 stream sediment data processing and analysis results show that mineral deposits is Au, Ag, Pb, zinc, and Mo. Based on the analysis of the anomaly of ore-forming elements,we delineate 234 single element anomalies and 17 element anomaly combination. Element anomalies are mainly distributed in the ring structure of edge and peripheral,and presents north east string, north west into belt, intersection of composite parts into pieces distribution.Based on 3 typical ore deposits study in the area and in the vicinity area, we've summarized metallogenic condition and prospecting criteria and established prospecting models.We believe that the ore controlling strata within the area are mainly Laoling rock group Zhenzhumen formation and the group of Huashan rock formation,they are situated in the Songshu Town of southwest of the study area, the overall trend of formation is consistent with the direction of regional tectonic line, north-east direction.The favorable wall rock of Ore-hosted is mainly magnesian carbonate and schist rock. Favourable surrounding rock structure with gold mineralization are mainly schist class cloud schist,carbonate rock in the thick layer of magnesian marble, brecciform magnesianmarble. Ore-controlling faults are mainly fracture structure,which control function to the gold mine. It mainly includes basin boundary faults, cutting of the syncline structure to the fracture and the transverse fault and so on.The fault identification mark can be seen from the measured profile of the field.The ore controlling bodies are mainly magmatic rocks which controlled the gold deposits in the metallogenic belt. It mainly are yanshanian intrusive rocks and deep to shallow depth of emplacement.Combined with geology,geophysical prospecting, geochemical exploration, remote sensing and mineral information, this paper delineated 4 mineralization areas, which included 2 class I(Class A) metallogenic prospective area and 2 class II(class B) mineralization prospect area.Based on the evaluation of the prospecting potential in the prospective area, a class a 2 prediction area(Longwan and the temple ridge forecast area) are selected as the prospecting target area finally.
