This paper use the measured data of salt and temperature in July,2006.Analyzing the date through two different methods,which are spectrum-representation and adaptive recognition of spring layer and traditional method of recognizing spring layer.Then compare the differences between the consequences that the methods make while recognize different style of spring layer.Forming distribution of ?five points and three elements?.Analyzing shows:1)The increasing of surface temperature in summer is the prevalent reason for the formation of thermocline.The depth of thermocline is increasing gradually form the west to the east in the area.Strong thermocline usually thin while weak one is thick.2)The combined effect of cold water mass in South Yellow sea and the remain water of warm current is the principal reason for formation of inversion thermocline.3)Spectrum-representation and adaptive recognition of spring layer recognize and express spring layer in a way which is more complete.The result is more objective without the influence of the man-made minimum standard.While recognize multiple spring layer,the method has not ignore the changes which is objective existence,and present the real situation more detailed.Besides,this paper uses the measured data of salt and temperature in April,2007 to analyzing inversion thermocline fully.We obtain ?five points and three elements? through spectrum-representation and adaptive recognition of spring layer,and form the distribution of strength factors.Analyzing shows that Yellow sea Warm Current is the principal reason for formation of inversion thermocline:(1)The affection from sea surface cooling in April for Yellow sea Warm Current is still the prevalent reason which causes the formation of inversion thermocline.This inversion thermocline that located in the area that Yellow sea Warm Current stretches to the north and extends to its sides is relatively shallow.(2)In the south of Yellow sea Warm Current,which is main area of it,the affection from sea surface cooling is offset by sufficient supplement of heat.Thus inversion thermocline here is very week or even disappear.This made the area of inversion thermocline shrinks to the north and shows a gap in the middle of its southern part.(3)The cold water is moving southward and superposing on Yellow sea Warm Current,which comes from Lubei coastal current.This results in the inversion thermocline there is stronger,and makes the area become the big value area of inversion thermocline,which is affected by hot water and cold water at the same time.(4)Double-inversion thermocline is result from the head of cold water wedges in Yellow sea Warm Current.The head of cold water covers on Yellow sea Warm Current which is hot and salty,thus form the Double-inversion.All this features are more objective,comprehensive,carefully,accuracy then we have known previously.
