Recently,the soliton scattering has been attracting increasing attention,particularly,which is studied in the PT symmetric system.Experimentally,it is realized by double-channel waveguides that gains balances loss in the field of optics.In this paper,in the framework of PT symmetric system,we study the scattering of soliton by numerical simulation and variational method,the latter make a theoretical analysis of the results of former method.We show the results of our investigation about the soliton scattering by the PT symmetric potential where the direct numerical evidence of the fairly well manipulation of the direction of soliton transmission by choosing some proper the potential and soliton parameters.The main contents are as follows:1)The nonlinear Schrodinger equation governing the evolution of optical fields in nonlinear medium is derived from the Maxwell's equations and use the dimensionless procedure that is the mode investigated in this paper.At the same time,we briefly describe Split-Step Fourier method and variational method which is used to numerically study dynamics of evolution and provides a general theoretical explanation of the soliton transmission of the media of the potential,respectively.2)Based on the normalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation,we take the exact solution of the homogeneous of the mode as an initial condition for which make numerical simulation of the dynamic evolution of the interaction soliton with the PT symmetric Scarf-II potential.Numerical results show that the soliton unidirectional flow takes place by choosing some proper the potential and soliton parameters.Furthermore,we present the incident velocity window,the width and depth window of the imaginary part and the depth window of the real part of the PT symmetric Scarf-II the potential.And by the variational method,it exposes a common theoretical description of scattering process for feasibility of calculations,which we use a PT-symmetric potential composed of 8 functions.3)We investigate the characteristics of scattered soliton after the interaction of soliton with the two PT symmetric potentials.Firstly,we find that the soliton unidirectional flow takes place when we consider the scattering of the soliton experiences the real parts of two potentials.The left and the right unidirectional flow takes place which of the parameters of potentials and soliton are nearly same but the site of initial incident soliton and the parameter windows is much wider than ones of the single potential.Secondly,we discuss the two PT symmetric potentials case and discover similar the soliton unidirectional flow and the parameter windows controlling the direction of scattered soliton.We hope these results are available to the manipulation of unidirectional flow in different waveguides.
