The study of dark matter has been one of the most frontier science subjects in the 21 st century. The direct detection mothod was used to detect the WIMP particales that was one of the candidates of dark matter. CDEX?China Dark Matter Eperiment? epperiment is going to detect the WIMP flux directly. The CDEX10 will employ a point-contact germanium semi-conductor PCGe?10kg? whose threshold was less than 300 eV and the liquid argon detector will serve as both the passive shielding detector and the low temperature media for HPGe detector.In this thesis we designed and established the gas/liquid argon detector charcteristics test platform, including the experiment equipment, data acquisition,data processing software program, and we had systematically investigation the performance and the phaysical parameters of the detector. We completed the low temperature performance testing, energy calibration, resolution and dark count research about the large active area, ultra- low background PMT?EL9357KLB? using the experiment device. We presented here the ruslults obtained from the analysis of the alpha and the cosimic ray data on the following items: the signal amplitude spectrum, the energy spectrum, PSD factor spectrum and the character of the signal waveform such as the signal rise time and signal attenuation time of the argon gas purity 99.999% and 99.9999999%. Using the function to fit the average signal waveform, the result of the amplitude constant and the decay time of the fast component and the slow component had got and their change with the purity of argon gas. The cosmic ray data in the liquid argon detector also been got.The experimental device, acquisition system, data processing system had been designed and operated well, and got the experimental experience for the application of liquid argon in the CDEX-10. The detection and analyzation of ? ray and cosmic ray using our liquid argon detector provides reference for the signal discrimination and the detector calibration for CDEX.
