Bayan Har block is a terrane in the middle-eastern part of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Its southern and northern borders arecontrolled by the Ganzi-Yushu-Xianshui River fault and the East Kunlun fault, and the eastern boundary consist of the Longmen Shan fault and the Minjiang fault. These boundary faults have occurred many times of above Ms7.0 destructive earthquakes in the history. Predecessors have done some detailed research and discussion on the activities of these main controlling boundary faults.In contrast, there are still some active faults inside the Bayan Har block which are not thoroughly researched. But, the faults inside the block tend to have relatively strong late Quaternary activity characteristics. Like the Longriba fault which lies in the eastern of the block, the Dari fault and Maduo-Gande fault which are lies in the central of Bayan Har block. There used to be some strong earthquake occurred around these fault zones in the history, in which the biggest one is the 1947 Ms7? earthquake near Dari.The middle segment of Dari Fault as the research object, in the remote sensing interpretation based on and combined with field investigation, to quantitative study of fault activity as the core, the integrated use of remote sensing geology, geomorphology and so on method, to carry out preliminary research on active faults. The main work of the master's thesis and summarizes the basic conclusions are as follows:1. Using TM/ETM, SRTM and other remote sensing data to understand the regional topography and fracture structure. The characteristics of the regional topography and the geometric distribution of the faults are analyzed, and the active nature of the faults is known.2. Have a continuous tracking of Dari fault earthquake surface rupture zone, to obtain the surface rupture zone distribution and displacement distribution characteristics. Find the surface rupture of Dari earthquake has obvious difference in the southeast and northwest.3. By using the total station instrument, the accurate measurement of the important micro topography on the fault zone has been carried out, and a certain amount of data has been obtained. Based on the analysis of the displacement data, it is revealed that the faults in the Quaternary period have the characteristics of long- term activities.4. Through the analysis of tectonic geomorphology, indicating that in dari fault in the middle of the river in dari fault activity has obvious response.5. Study on the dynamic mechanism of Dari fault.
