JinGang coalfield in the northeastern Sichuan is situated on the northern edge of Yangzi platform, regional tectonic framework and tectonic evolution are very complex,multiple staged structural actions have formed coalfield of typical Barrier-type controlled.After it developed and utilized for several years,coal reserves of the region has been a serious shortage.Therefore,the main coal-bearing formation is necessary for the region scientific and systematic study,summarize its coal accumulation regular pattern,after the district will work to find a coal guiding significance.The paper is finished by the method and principle of coal basin analysis,and combining theoretics such as Petrolog, Stratigraphy,Sedimentology and Coal geology,based on all kinds of geologic documents such as predecessors' research fruits,Field measured data.Analysis rock types, sedimentary structures and lithologic characteristics of Upper Triassic coal-bearing strata in jingang coal coalfield. The research shows the main environmental of coal formation is flood plain deposits of Fluvial and delta plain of delta,it reveals the sedimentary depositional system characteristics, spatial distribution and mining material source.At last,according to between structure, paleogeography, paleoclimate plant of ancient and key coal-bearing strata of tectonic evolution in the study area,summed coal accumulating pattern,and indicate the future of the region to find work in the direction of the coal and the preferred area.
