Organic agriculture and food is receiving increasing attention from consumer, farming and environmental organizations, the public, as well as governments. Demand for organic products in European market, which is one of the biggest organic food markets, has increased over recent years, beyond the present domestic production capacity. The Europe organic market provides many successful experiences for other countries’, while there still faces some barriers and problems.The production, consumption, market drivers, market size and trend, sales channels, market segmentation, and the main market barriers of organic food in Europe were summarized in the paper. Through the SCP analysis, the research presents a clear summarization of the structure、conduct and performance of the Europe organic food market. It showed that there were many factors affecting the development of organic food in Europe, which include political, economic and social factors in terms of consumer concerning about the food safety, animal welfare, environment, and introducing uniform certification standards and the support of government. The main barriers of organic food market were also pointed out. At last, the paper will forecast the development trend of the organic food market.
