As the most important primary energy in China, coal is widely used in generation, coking industry, chemistry industry, etc. However, many unreasonable situations exist in the process of domestic coal utilization, such as using main coking coal into generation and putting unwashed steam coal on market. These situations will not only reduce coal resource utilization efficiency, but also produce large transport capacity waste in long-distance, large-scale transportation step.To achieve the goal of promote China’s coal flow energy conservation and emission reduction, this paper puts forward the concept of coal supply-demand matching degree, which under the dominant idea of coal utilization by classification and gradation. This study takes related enterprises as research subjects and follows the path of using microcosmic matching degree to drive national coal flow optimization. Considering coal demanders and suppliers have inter-restricted relationship, the two-sided matching method is finally chosen to measure the rationality of coal trades between enterprises. An optimization model under the goals of highest global matching degree and minimize turnover volume is built on the basis of assessment system which contains the indexes of coal type, coal quality, haul distance, transport direction and equipment evaluation. Scenarios of minimize global turnover volume is introduced into this paper to measure the advantages of matching model. Due to aiming at driving national coal flow optimization by improving matching degree between related enterprises, this paper eventually chose 2206 production nodes and 1500 demand nodes as research objects in huge database.According the comparison between matching model and minimize turnover volume scenario, some results are reached:(1) provincial transport volume of impurities of matching model are 10% less than minimize turnover volume scenario which the situation is more obvious in main producing provinces of coal; (2) the matching model can relief the situation of the abuse of high-quality coal; (3) the matching model can promote energy conservation and emission reduction in transport link by restricting impurity contents in commercial coal. On the whole, the utilization of matching model can optimize every link of coal flow. And the comparison of results between matching model and other scenarios can be reference for government to make optimization policies as well.This paper proposes a series of suggestions on the basis of optimization results, such as analyzing raw coal quality before deciding washing level; using optimization results to guide related provinces’coal transport plan and industrial structure; encouraging coal enterprises to build own railways and making diversified transport schemes, etc. According to the results of matching model, the government can also exercise pointed macro-control and eventually realize the optimization of national coal flow.
