With the coming of globalization, the market competition is becoming more and more fierce. The manufacturing enterprises need to keep the advantage in the competition. Efforts to improve operational performance is an important way for manufacturing enterprises to gain sustainable competitive advantage in the competition. At present, the manufacturing competition between enterprises has been gradually transformed into the competition between supply chains. With the increasing of environment dynamic and complexity, the risk of supply chain is becoming more and more serious, which has become a hot research topic. For manufacturing enterprise itself, it is very important to understand the influence of supply chain risk on operation performance, which is very important for manufacturing enterprises to adapt to the dynamic and changeable environment, improve manufacturing performance and enhance competitiveness. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the effect of supply chain risk on operational performance and the relationship between them. Based on the review of relevant literatures, this study constructs a theoretical model of the impact of supply chain risk on operational performance of manufacturing enterprises. The focus of the study is the impact of supply chain risk on the operational performance of manufacturing companies, as well as differences between the developed and developing countries. The supply chain risk is divided into three dimensions: supply risk, manufacturing risk and demand risk. The operational performance is divided into four dimensions: quality, flexibility, delivery and cost. This research is based on the database of the international manufacturing strategy survey in 2013, and adopt 632 manufacturing enterprises samples from 21 countries. In this study, with the help of SPSS17.0 and AMOS20.0 statistical tools, the reliability and validity of the data has been tested. And the study uses correlation analysis, structural equation modeling and multiple group analysis to test the hypotheses. This study verifies the negative impact of supply chain risk on the operation performance of manufacturing enterprises. The study also points out that the relationship between supply chain risk and operational performance is different between developing countries and developed countries. According to the results of the data analysis, this study points out that supply risk, manufacturing risk and demand risk have all negative impacts on operational performance. Supply risk has the most significant negative impact on operating performance. From the point of view of operational performance, supply risk, manufacturing risk and demand risk all have the most significant negative impact on flexible performance. The development degree of countries can influence the relationship between supply chain risk and operation performance. The negative impact of supply chain risk on operating performance is greater in developing countries. Finally, based on the analysis and discussion, this paper puts forward some suggestions for manufacturing enterprises to deal with the risk of supply chain. And the paper also puts forward some for manufacturing enterprises in developing countries compared the lack of developed countries put forward reasonable strategies and suggestions, control supply chain risk, which provides some instructions for Chinese manufacturing enterprises to better participate in the international competition.
