| As the economy developing, the strong vitality of knowledge and information began to emerge. The era of knowledge economy has shown strong vitality, culture institution, technology and other soft power have significant influence on the development of economy. In this context, intellectual capital which is component with knowledge, skills, culture and relations has aroused people’s attention, and built up a new field of study. As a branch of the equipment manufacturing industry, high-end equipment manufacturing industry has some characteristics such as high capital investment, high-tech, high added-value and highly information density. High-end equipment manufacturing industry is China’s strategic emerging industries, a significant symbol of national industrial competitiveness levels and is also an important engine which driving the entire equipment manufacturing industry upgrading. With the more prominent role that intellectual capital play in the enterprise, and the important effects to achieve goals in the process of becoming the powerful manufacturing country are brought by the high-end equipment manufacturing industry. Due to these facts, the study of high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises’ intellectual capital is particularly important.Basing on the literature to sort out and research, we define the relevant concepts and summarizes the mechanism of intellectual capital on the firm performance. Introduce the case company, then briefly introduce the basic situation of H Company, the background of high-end equipment manufacturing industry and the status of intellectual capital management. Also the firm performance should be described. Collect and collate relevant data and information of H Company, use the VAIC method to measure the intellectual capital. Then an enterprise performance evaluation index-Y can be obtained by using factor analysis method. Through correlation analysis and regression analysis, we explored the relationship between H’s intellectual capital and firm performance and found that not only the overall intellectual capital but also its constituent elements will improve firm performance. But the effects are various.Through the case study of H company, there are some problems about intellectual capital management as follows: Lack of difference in human capital management process, ignoring the development of enterprise capital structure, lack of prospective in development and maintenance of customer relationships, having no intellectual capital management system, weak development of theory and regulations and so on. Considering these above shortages and the realities of H Company, some measures for improvement should be put forward. Establish the personalized human capital management model, consolidate and develop the structure of capital, focus on maintaining customer relationships capital, build a sound intellectual capital management system and improve the relevant regulations. |
