Under the new normal economic, more and more attention has been paid to efficiency. In order to assess the agriculture information resources’ allocation efficiency of each prefecture-level city of Jiangsu Province in 2013, this paper constructs the evaluation framework of agricultural information resources, then data envelopment analysis is used to evaluate the efficiency level. The results of the conventional DEA model is discussed for three dimensions: comprehensive efficiency, technical efficiency and scale efficiency. The main findings of this study are as follows, the comprehensive efficiency of Zhenjiang, Suqian, Wuxi, Changzhou, Yangzhou and Taizhou have reached the production frontier. The rest seven cities are DEA inefficient, which is primarily caused by the comparatively low efficiency of human resources and information infrastructure. For the DEA efficient area, the results based on the super-efficiency DEA model reveals that Zhenjiang has the highest score, which is mainly due to the full use of all kinds of resources, especially the financial and information resources.Subsequently, The method of Tobit model is employed to regress the DEA-CCR efficiency scores upon the corresponding elements. Strong statistical evidence is presented to confirm that the investment of agriculture information resources exerts a significant favorable impact on comprehensive efficiency.Practical implications are then drawn from the empirical evidence.
