Oilfield chemicals as one of the fine chemical field, its development mainly caused by the oil and gas field exploration, development and the refinery afterword. Now, it can be seen the global oilfield chemicals and market demand is growing strongly. In this context, if an enterprise can change in the industry, in order to establish the competitive advantage in the industry, eliminate the non-competitive enterprises, and effectively avoid the malicious competition of rivals, the industry development of oilfield chemicals and the long-term strategic planning is very important.This paper by Clariant Chemicals (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter is referred to as subsequent Clariant Corporation) in the analysis of the market situation, the actual situation of the company, the Porter five-forces model analysis, then the reference Porter of three competitive strategy, Clariant corporation competitive strategy positioning, Clariant oilfield company in the market to choose the competition strategy:focus Strategy. The strategy in order to guarantee the smooth progress of the nine factors model using value chain analysis and put forward feasible measures.This paper argues that brands can be found along with the influence of non-obvious core suppliers bargaining power threat, threat of substitute, but itself oilfield chemicals and technology services to superior and is now setting up a differentiated strategy, management of internal, external and to improve its service, and through the chain of customer value creation to ensure the competitive advantage of firms in the industry’s competitive position and implement the competitive strategy.
