Project Scope Managemet Scheme Design Of Mobile Terminal Software Project

Nowadays, with the fast increasing number of mobile smart devices, especially smart phones, the number of software runs on them has also increased explosively. The number of mobile applications distributed in Google Play and Apple App Store are both exceed one million up to January 2015. More and more companies and individual developer have joined mobile applications project development.Because the mobile device and PC device has many differences, the mobile application and PC software are also different in many ways. In the software scope, the mobile applications emphasize on user experience, but most of time, PC software only focuses on functions. The Software Engineering has whole pack of methods and tools for PC software project management and development, but for the mobile applications’ project scope management especially user experience, it does not have any approach to obtain, and analysis it. The Software Engineering also does not have ways to deal with issues like required change management, and so on. Because the mobile application is a newly born thing, people do not have experience to manage and develop it; many software companies still use the methods from Software Engineering to develop them. The result shows by using these methods, the applications caused problems like poor user experience, frequently changing of requirement and so on. The reality has proven that using methods from Software Engineering to development mobile applications is no longer appropriate.This paper will study a case of mobile app project. Through this case, this paper designs a Project Scope Management Plan for it. The plan has absorbed the principles of Agile Management, using Kano model to obtain and analysis user experience. By executing this Project Scope Management Plan, the issues such as requirement of mobile applications, user experience, changing of requirement and development will be addressed effectively. Mean time the plan also makes a good example for the Mobile Application Project Scope Management in the whole industry.
