The Research On Labor Migration And Spatial Unbalanced Development Of Economy In Jiangsu Province

Unbalanced regional economic development seriously affects the social stability and coordinated economic development, and labor migration is one of the main reasons for the unbalance, in turn, the imbalance of regional economy acts on the labor migration. Although Jiangsu province is China’s eastern coastal developed region, and one of the main regions where labors flows into, but italso exists the disequilibrium of thethree regions, the magnificationwill affect the overall economy in Jiangsu province of the healthy, stableand harmonious development.Based on regional economics, labor economics and spatial economics theory,this paper uses the neoclassical economic theory, the endogenous growth model to analyze the impact on regional economic developmentof labor migration.Furtherly, it makes use of the new economic geography to explain the effect of labor mobility on the regional disequilibrium.On the basis of the census data of 2000 and 2010 and the statistical data of 2004-2013, the relationship between the labor mobility and regional differences in Jiangsu province was analyzed.According to the theory and present status of the theory and analysis, the paper verifies the economic development of Jiangsu Provincethrough Moran s I index, Moran scatterplot, LISA cluster maps.On the base of census data of 63 counties and citics of Jiangsu province in 2010, the paper sets up spatial econometrics model to quantitative analyze of the influx of the labor force, outflow of the labor force and education of labors to the local economy; and in 13 cities in Jiangsu province from year 2004 to 2013 panel data as the foundation, studyingthe effect of labor migration, salary level, technological innovation, investment, human capital stock on thethree regions.Empirical evidence shows that labor mobility widened the gap between the three regions of Jiangsu Province and strengthened the spatial unbalanced pattern.Finally,based on the empirical conclusion,the paper puts forward recommendations to promotingrational flow of the labor force and regional harmonious development inJiangsu province.
