In recent years, with the deepening of China’s reform and open policy, the national policies for communications industry been relaxed gradually. Now the monopoly position of China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom in communications industry was broken. More and more private enterprises into the communications industry, which formed a diversified pattern that mainly in China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecome, small and medium-sized enterprises account for auxiliary status. But the emergence of diversified pattern also has created new mental health problem of China Unicom’s employees, such as low mood, depression and anxiety, which restrict the work efficiency. This phenomenon requires state-owned enterprises to improve management and the staff s job satisfaction, focus on the employee’s mental health, create positive work team, promote development of enterprise.This study respondents for China Unicom employees of Xinyang City, Henan Province, apply MSQ and SCL-90 to understand the employees’ job satisfaction and mental health status of different gender, age, length of service and different income. Survey results show that China Unicom employees’ job satisfaction is in a state of medium, mental health status of China Unicom employees is lower than the national norm of normal levels. The mean of each dimension of women’s job satisfaction is higher than man. Score of each factor of men’s mental health is higher than woman, the mental health status of the male is poor in women. The correlation analysis between each factor of job satisfaction and SCL-90 shows that each factor of job satisfaction has significant influence on mental health, the higher the job satisfaction, the healthier psychological status.Finally,in this paper,I analyzed the restricting factors of employees’job satisfaction on the basis of research results from salary, interpersonal relations, promotion and so on and find out the psychological problems of employees at this stage.Then I put forward so me opinions and suggestions of improving employees’ job satisfaction and mental health level to establish a fair and reasonable assessment system,which is good for state workers ’training and development.
