On The Present Status Of Brics Countries’ Internet Development

The world’s Internet had experienced a series of profound changes during the first 15 years of 21 st century, and a lot of new things and concepts emerged continuously. Meanwhile, as the Internet plays a more and more important role in political, economic and cultural area, countries all around the world began to switch their development focus to the Internet area. With the continuous changing of the Internet, the BRICS has developed into a very influential political entity from a concept, and played their roles in the world’s Internet development. On the one hand, the BRICS located in four different continents, and respectively occupy the regional strategic superiority in their continent; such superiority can built a good internal and external environment for the Internet development. On the other hand, the BRICS have an absolute advantages of population size in the world, which is one of the key basic resources for the Internet’s future development. Currently, Although China holds the leading position of the Internet development in the BRICS, the other four countries also develop very fast as the increasing communication of information and technology, and hence China can see other four countries’ experiences and problems as revelation and learn from them.This paper studies the literatures and analyses the data based on the different Internet development stages of the BRICS, highlights their features and then summarizes several revelation for China’s Internet development in a comprehensive way. As for the frame of this paper, there are three parts apart from the Introduction and Summary. The second and third part discusses the general situation of Internet basic resources and the current situation of the industry of the BRICS. The fourth part gives some enlightening significances for China’s Internet development based on the front two parts.
