The Evaluation Of The Developing Ability Among The Listed Companies Of Chinese Environmental Protection Industry

With the continuous high speed in the development of Chinese economy, the level of the urbanization is going higher, and the industrialization is going faster, the environmental issues have become increasingly prominent. After entering the 21 th century,the idea of green development, harmonious society, environment-friendly society and some others is going more and more famous. Our country is paying more and more attention on environmental protection, and the need of it is being bigger and bigger. After the beginning of The Tenth Five-year-plan, our country began to strengthen the construction of infrastructure to protect the environment, supporting the development of environmental protection industry. These have stimulated the market demand of environmental protection,and the development of environmental protection industry is being on the highway. The industrial scale is expanding rapidly, the industrial structure is continuing upgrading, and the overall level of the environmental protection industry has been improved in a high speed. After entering The Twelfth Five-year-plan, various kinds of environmental policy have been introduced intensively. The environmental protection field is expanding rapidly,demand is gradually deepening,the environmental investment is also increasing. The environmental protection industry is gradually developing into a strategic leader. The evaluation of the developing ability among the listed companies of Chinese environmental protection industry during The Twelfth Five-year-plan will reflect the developing level of Chinese environmental protection industry in a more direct way, and also will provide references and suggests for the development of environmental protection industry during The Thirteenth Five-year-plan or else a longer period.This thesis will begin with reviewing and sorting some related literature and researches from home and abroad, which are about the definition of the growth, the factors of the growth, the evaluation method of the developing ability and the evaluation for the listed companies of environmental protection industry. Next, the author will define The concept of the classification of the environmental protection industry and the concept of the growth, and also will explain some related theoretical basis. Then, I studied the developing strategies of the environmental protection industry in our country, using PEST analysis and the Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model. This study would be the premise in analyzing the developing ability. After this, I chose 11 traditional financial indicators, and 3characteristic indexes which were connecting with characteristics of the environmental protection industry, using the method of factor analysis, to create a model to evaluate thegrowth of the listed companies of environmental protection industry. I filtered 53 companies from all of the listed companies of environmental protection industry, using the data from 2011 to 2014, analyzed by the method of factor analysis, and then abstracted five main factors, which are the Steady development factor, Funds and profit factor, Developing ability factor, Operating capacity factor and Policy factor. I got a formula to evaluate the growth, and scored for the 53 listed companies by this formula, and analyzed the developing ability of the environmental protection industry by the scores. At last, I got a result on the basis of analyzing the developing ability of the listed companies of environmental protection industry, and also made some suggestions.
