With technological and social change, new information and technology on the traditional textile enterprises caused great pressure on traditional underwear companies. Enterprises are upgrading transformation of foreign trade, get rid of low price competition mode, looking for new space for development. If one can not adapt to changes and meet consumer demand with product in the market, then other efforts of enterprises can not make then survive in the highly competitive environment. The underwear enterprises, of course, are no exception. There have been a lot of theoretical study of the product development process, but it is always difficult for traditional enterprises to put it in practical application, the situation in garment enterprises is even worse. There are a lot of study on product development process in clothing enterprises, while in underwear enterprises it is very limited. Of all kinds of clothing, underwear have a much more complex production processes because of its materials and technology, which makes it necessary to study on the product development process in underwear corporation separately. The subject of this paper is product development process in underwear corporation, researching the Brand X.At first, this paper puts forward the present of underwear industry and probes into the trend of the development underwear brand, make it clear with some basic concepts related to product development, apparel product development and product process of the market oriented. Define the concept of underwear involves in this article, and define the concept of apparel product process, and define the product process in clothing enterprise from the planning of the product line in this stage of product development process, and the clothing product development process in the stage of from planning concept to the bulk production. These are all key object of study for the later case studies and construction provides a theoretical basis.Then, according to the experience of a year-long internship in Brand X as an assistant in product development department, this paper make a detailed analysis on product development process Brand X. The main contents contains about the product development process model of Brand X underwear. From product line planning in the beginning to the bulk production stage, this paper makes a deep decomposition analysis on the product development operation, including the product research and development processes, the layout of garment commodity, product design process and product implementation process. According to these detailed analysis, take evaluation on all aspects of the product development process in Brand X on the basics of the theory of product development process.Finally, this paper build a product development process model of market orientation based on product development process of Brand X. And then gives some suggestions about product development process to Brand X, hoping to standard the product development process in underwear enterprises, control the waste of resources, reduce production losses and shorten the development cycle and reduce development costs. So that they can achieve their long-term development goals, provide strong evidence for the traditional underwear product development.
