The land resource use pattern can reflect the most direct interaction relationship between human activity and the natural environment. Therefore, the study on land use pattern change can ensure the reasonable efficient and intensive use way of land resources, which is the first priority of the regional development, economic transformation, and planning implementation The paper selected Jincheng Long River basin as the study area, a typical watershed in the hilly Loess Plateau, and the paper explored the analysis of different changes of land use patterns from 2005 to 2015 through the use of GIS spatial information processing technology and CLUE-S model simulation technology; The different changes and spatial disparities of land use patterns in the research area were explored and main factors influencing the land use change in the study area were sorted out, and applied the binary logistic regression analysis method to analyze impact factors, thus obtained the results of the suitable spatial distribution conditions of different land types; On the basis of the collected data, based on factor quantitative analysis data, the paper selected CLUE-S model to make the prediction of land use patterns in the next five years and thus proposed some optimization suggestions. The research results were as follows:(1) In general, the land use pattern in the study area was stable during the ten years. In more details, during the period from 2005 to 2010,the land use types playing a leading role in land use structure change are as the following sequence:cultivated land, built-up land, grassland, forest land. From 2010 to 2015, the land use types playing a leading role in land use structure change are as the following sequence:grassland, built-up land, transportation land. The changes of land use pattern was mainly affected by macroscopic land use policy. (2) Within the study area, there are many differences between land use patterns, the overall development degree in the adjacent Long River area is superior to the adjacent Bai River area. The overall development degree where there is more mining area is superior to where there is fewer mining area; In general, the overall development degree in the northern study area is superior to that in southern part. (3) Changes in land use types have a high-level explanation for the impact factors of the change of various land types. Topography factor plays a control role in forming the land use pattern; Distance factor has the limited effect for the formation of the land use pattern; And the social and economic factors have some disturbance over the land use pattern. (4) Based on the analysis of the temporal and spatial differences of land use structure in and the driving forces, the paper predicted the future development trend in the study area using CLUE-S model based on the assumption that the study area would maintain the existing policy, economic conditions, the constraint factors such as environmental conditions.
