Since the first P2 P platform of the world Zopa was founded in the UK in 2005, the entire P2 P industry is enlarging. The increasing number and types thus problems of P2 P platforms was observed in China, especially from the year of 2013, when China had accessed to the Internet of financial year. The easing financial environment and relative sound policy of the British and the American support and protect their P2 P industry. This dissertation focuses on Zopa, LendingClub, Prosper, Ondeck and MarketInvoice etc. as typical cases to illustrate the classic types of the British and the American’ P2 P industry, which include Personal Loans Platform, Enterprise Loans Platform and Bill Exchange Platform. Compared with the British and the American, the regulatory of Chinese P2 P industry was lagging behind. This phenomenon had not changed until July 2015, when China issued “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Healthy Development of Internet banking”. This new regulation played an active role on management and promotion of Chinese P2 P industry; therefore, the industry appeared in new development opportunities. This dissertation will firstly analyses relative data of Chinese P2 P industry in recent years. Secondly, there will be a short conclusion of emerging characteristics of the P2 P industry. Thirdly, the reasons and types of the risks in the P2 P industry will be demonstrated. Finally, this dissertation will use the specific P2 P platforms as examples to conclude the major models of risk control; for instance, risk security payments model, guarantee company cooperation model, mortgage and impawn model and insurance company underwriting model.
