In the current knowledge economy era, with the various environmental changes and increasing competition, human resource becomes an important factor for organizational competitive advantage. In terms of human resource management, encouraging employees to implement proactive behavior and maximize their human capital is especially important for enterprise to build the competitive advantage. Employees who take active behavior can improve their ability to adapt to the environmental changes and positively to meet challenges in order to better finish the tasks. In addition, from the perspective of social cognition, the study on how the perceived work environment affects proactive behavior, on one hand, it can enrich the relevant theoretical study and explore the driving factors of proactive behavior; On the other hand, the research can also guide the enterprise to create good working environment and improve employees’ work autonomy and enthusiasm. Thus proactive behavior is one of the hot issues in the current human resource management research and it also has important theoretical and practical significance.The study mainly adopts the methods of theoretical research and empirical method to analyze how the perceived work environment affects employees’proactive behavior and further introduces role breadth self-efficacy and flexible role orientation as intermediary variables for research. Firstly, through analyzing the status and problems about relevant literatures at home and abroad, the study puts forward research hypothesizes for the full text based on the job characteristics theory and social cognitive theory. Then according to the collected data, this article uses the relevant statistical software to analyze the data for exploring how the perceived work environment impacts proactive behavior. In the process, it uses analysis methods such as descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis etc. Finally, considering the results of hypothesis test, this article further analyze the conclusions and put forward the corresponding management suggestions.The analysis results show that job autonomy, co-worker trust and flexible role orientation have significant positive effects on proactive behavior. In addition, when studying the relations between perceived work environment and proactive cognitive-motivational states, it suggests that job autonomy and leadership support also have significant impact on flexible role orientation and job autonomy has the similar effect on role breadth self-efficacy. At the same time, flexible role orientation plays partial intermediary role between perceived work environment and proactive behavior but the intermediary role of role breadth self-efficacy has not been verified.
