The Research On Efficiency Of Urban Tourism In Henan Province Based On DEA Model

Along with economic and social development and the improvement of people’s living standard, people after solved the problems of the most basic life, more and more pay attention to the improvement of life quality, the demand for tourism is becoming more and more big.Especially after the reform and opening-up policy, tourism of China is a large degree of development and growth, the tourism industry as an emerging industry is to thrive, and increasingly become a region, a city’s pillar industry, tourism economy is becoming more and more prominent in the position in national economy.The Henan province is located in the central plains hinterland, is also the birthplace of Chinese civilization, has a long history and cultural traditions and rich tourism resources, and also to develop the tourism industry in recent years, Henan provincial government in 2009, state tourism development strategy is put forward, hope that through the effect of tourism industry to promote the economic development of the province.However, according to the development of recent years, the development of the tourism industry has not been greatly improved, and in the process of development there are many unreasonable problems.This article first analyzes from city to city in Henan province tourism development status, then using the method of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to build the model of variable return to scale the BCC model, with 18 cities in Henan province on the basis of the tourism industry data from 2009 to 2013, using DEAP 2.1 software to calculate the efficiency of 18 cities in recent years the tourism industry.The results showed that, although the Henan province increased investment in tourism in recent years, but the overall tourism efficiency level is not high and tourism development is very unequal, the efficiency of urban tourism value span is large, but most of the development of the city is in the stage of increasing return to scale. Based on the comprehensive technical efficiency of the 18 cities decomposition analysis, we concluded that the main factor influencing the efficiency of tourism industry in Henan province cities is scale efficiency, that also can improve the city tourism development scale, the development of the tourism industry is still in the primary stage, reasonably increasing inputs would promote the development of tourism.After using DEA method for tourism efficiency value, efficiency value to be explained variable regression analysis tectonic Tobit model, it is concluded that per capita GDP, the proportion of tertiary industry to GDP, second class above highway mileage have significant effect on a city tourism efficiency, fixed investment of the third industry has not obvious effect on the efficiency of the tourism industry.At the end of this article, according to the conclusions of this study, put forward some proposals to promote tourism development in Henan.
