Recently, with the comsuption of resourses and the continuous deterioration of the environment, sustainable construction has gradually become a hot issue throughout the world. In china, in order to achieve this goal, the governmet has considered the implementation of housing industrialization as an important development strategy. Since 1994 when china first proposed ―Housing industrialization‖, this concept has started to become the core thought of guiding the development of China’s housing construction. However, a series of problems like high cost, the lack of technology, and the low level of market awareness severely hamper the rapid development of housing industrialization in China. Although the central and local governments formulated a serious of standards and supportive policies as well as some scholars have also conducted some deep researches on development strategies of housing industrialization, these strategies and suggestions fail to improve effectively the current development situations of housing industrialization in different regions in China, leading China’s housing industrialization to be still at a early stage. There are certain differences among the development potentials of housing industrialization in different regions of China, which means that these regions need to take different measures. Therefore, it is the research focus to analyze the development potential of of housing industrialization in every region of China so as to promote the development of housing industrialization in these areas.Finding the key factors affecting the development potentials of China’s housing industrialization through the literature research method, the paper establishes the evaluating indicator system on the development of housing industrialization, and then combines principal component analysis with TOPSIS method to conduct the comparative study on 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities of China. The study shows that the eastern region has the best performance in the aspects of economy, technology, policy, and market as well as the greatest potential of housing industrialization. The development potential of housing industrialization in the northeastern region is also good, just behind the eastern region. In contrast, there is remarkable gap between the central and western regions and two other regions. The central and western regions still need to make more efforts on the aspects of economy, technology, policy, and market. Finally, according to the results of the empirical analysis, the paper proposes corresponding suggestions.
