Currently, our country economy has greatly promoted, however the regional economic development level still has a large gap.Just like economic development, agricultural development level in our country shows a regular law of diminishing from east to west. Modern agriculture is the main future direction of agricultural development in our country, meanwhile, it’s the precious opportunities to coordinate regional agricultural development in our country. This thesis measures and compares the agricultural total factor productivity in three regions –east, central and west from 1999 to 2013 for the purpose to study the three region agricultural development level and figure out the cause of the total factor productivity difference.Firstly, this thesis analyses the three major regions of agricultural production in the process of single factor input and output, and then studys the three regional agricultural total factor productivity on the basis of single factor analysis.Secondly, this thesis adopts DEA-Malmquist indices analysis method to study the total factor productivity, the results show that the total factor productivity in three major regions diminishs gradually from east to certral and west. However, as time goes on, it shows a trend that the central and west regions will surpass the east. The composition analysis of total factor productivity in three region shows that the low technical efficiency has a great effect on the growth rate of total factor productivity, technological progress is main driver to promote the agricultural total factor productivity growth in three major regions.Finaly, according to study result, some suggestions are put forward. we should focus on improving agricultural technical efficiency, break down various kinds of system barriers and regional barriers in the process of agricultural production, make sure all kinds of agricultural production factors can flow smoothly in different regions so that each region can make full use of its regional advantages to increase agricultural total factor productivity...
