The product conceptual design scheme evaluation is not only the core component of the new product development, but also the important way to improve the product design efficiency, reduce the production cost and increase the market competitiveness of the enterprise. The product conceptual design scheme decided in this stage will have an important effect on the final product function, performance, prices and the customer demand satisfaction. Although there are a lot of theories and methods to conduct the in-depth research for product conceptual design schemes evaluation and rich results are achieved, but the research on customized mechanical product conceptual design evaluation is relatively lack. And considering the characteristics of the mechanical products, the customized production mode and the customized mechanical product conceptual design, there are some limitations about the existing evaluation index system and methods. Therefore, this paper does an in-depth study and discussion to the four issues, including the construction of a scientific evaluation index system, the processing of the uncertainty evaluation information, and the determination of index weight and the selection of best evaluation methods. The main contents are as follows:First, the paper puts forward the overall research program of the conceptual design scheme evaluation for the customized mechanical product. Combined with the relevant definitions and characteristics of the customized mechanical product conceptual design and the characteristic differences between the traditional mechanical product conceptual design and the customized mechanical product conceptual design, the in-depth analysis of the existing problems on the conceptual design program evaluation for the customized mechanical product is carried out. And then the overall research program is proposed.Secondly, the paper builds an evaluation index system of the conceptual design program evaluation for customized mechanical product. The key influential factors of the conceptual design scheme evaluation for the customized mechanical product are analyzed from three aspects including product design stakeholders, limiting factors and environment. Based on this, the evaluation index system which consists of the individuality, economical and technical feasibility, market, and the ecological environment is constructed.Thirdly, the paper comes up with a conceptual design scheme evaluation method for the customized mechanical product based on the intuitionistic fuzzy VIKOR. The intuitionistic fuzzy number is used to deal with uncertainty assessment information and the intuitionistic fuzzy entropy weight method is adopted to determine the index weight. The conceptual design scheme evaluation method for the customized mechanical product based on the intuitionistic fuzzy VIKOR is proposed by introducing the intuitionistic fuzzy number, the entropy weight theory into the VIKOR method.Finally, the research results above are applied to the new customized diesel engine conceptual design scheme evaluation project in H company. The application results show that the research achievement have certain value for engineering application.
