Research On Hunan Optimization Of Industrial Structure

Since 1970’s reform and opening-up policy, Hunan has achieved rapid development in economy and great improvement in the comprehensive strength. Also, Hunan has achieved a certain success in transformation of economic growth as well as adjustment of industrial structure. However, there are some problems of industrial structures though the economy is growing. At present stage, the internal industrial structure still has a series of problems such as low-level in industrial administration, irrationality in internal structure, low degree in upgrade, low-level in information and so on, which limits the optimization of the industrial structure in Hunan Province and hinders the development of industrial upgrading as well as economic development. Therefore, the optimization of industrial structure has been a concerned subject in Hunan Province.This paper makes an analysis on the current industrial structure of Hunan Province and with the reference of the research on optimization of past industrial structure. It also analyzes the function of industrial structure optimization in Hunan from the internal and external perspectives. It decides its quantitative index of effective factors based on the accessibility and continuity of each city’s information in Hunan Province. Then it makes an empirical analysis on the effective factors of industrial structure optimization in Hunan with the method of quantile regression to know different influence degrees in different optimized levels. According to the result of quantile regression model, we know that the productivity, industry agglomeration as well as energy utilization can promote Hunan’s industrial structure optimization. It still not fully highlighted in the function of promoting Hunan’s industrial structure optimization by the employment scale, foreign direct investment, the opening degree as well as the technological innovation.This paper makes a summary on the empirical result and proposes four suggestions for the industrial structure optimization in Hunan Province as follows: push forward the energy conservation and emission reduction and pay attention to the development of service industry; enlarge the employment scale and improve the production efficiency; reinforce the establishment of domestic connections and stimulate the development of industrial agglomeration; enhance the innovation capability and quicken the step of the construction of the demonstration zone.
