Reseach On ZY Company’s Equipment Maintainance Project Management

Equipment maintenance is one of the most important links in enterprises’ service chain, because it involves multi-sectoral cooperation, a lot of financial and other resources, and high technical supports. Project management makes its resources consentrated on the project objectives, while weakening "department" constraints. This management approach adapts to the changes within the maintenance management. Consequentally, using project management approaches in the maintenance of equiptment has great influence.ZY’s Equipment Maintenance Department is operated through project management approaches. Based on the Project Life-cycle Theory, they unpack the project to five stages and utilize relavant management tools for tasks in different stages. The tools for planning stage include Precedence Diagramming Method(PDM), Work Breakdown Structure(WBS), Critical Path Method(CPM),etc, to settle the target and needs. In procurement stage, outsourcing and bidding management helps ZY’s Equipment Maintenance Department control quality and cost, which has enhanced performance-based team performance. These approaches help department face different management requiremnets, objections and request for time and money, in different stages. In sume, project management approace creates high efficiency in ZY’s Equipment Maintenance Department, resulting in reducing the cost of doing business, increasing the overall competitiveness.
