The Study Of Farmers’ Protection Willingness Of Prime Farmland

Recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy and further acceleration of urbanization, the contradiction between the cultivated land protection and economic development increasingly become prominent. As the essence of arable land, prime farmland is not only an important foundation for national food security, but also an important guarantee of social and economic development. In our country, it is universally that the prime farmland area is reducing, the quality is declining in recent years, the paper argues that farmers as the direct user of cultivated land, the direct main protection body of prime farmland, the protection of prime farmland will directly affect the effect of protection policy. In our country, the protection of prime farmland is mandatory, part of the farmers’ arable land are compulsory delimited into the scope of prime farmland protection areas by the state, the development rights which turn agricultural land into construction land is deprived, the opportunity cost also increase, however, current income of the farmland is low, whether the farmers’ wishes which participate in the protection of prime farmland is affected or not, and which factors will affect the farmers willingness, this direction of research has important practical significance to build a more perfect prime farmland protection mechanism.This study is based on the relevant numbers of literatures about protection of prime farmland, select four villages as samples in Changji city, take farmers as the research object, take survey in the form of questionnaire and interview for nearly 200 farmers in four villages, based on the farmers perspective, understand the farmers’ cognitive situation of prime farmland; analyze the farmers’ wishes of participating in the protection and the willingness of compensation intention of the prime farmland; quantitatively research the farmers’ willingness of participating in the protection of prime farmland by using Logistic regression model, find out the main factors which influence farmers’ willingness of participating in the protection of prime farmland. According to the research contents and results, put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the farmers’ participation of protection for prime farmland.Research of conclusions are as follows:(1) The farmers’ cognition of protection about prime farmland is low.(2) The limited right of development and low participation affect farmers’ willingness.(3) Farmers want to be the compensation object, and more willing to accept single compensation method.(4) The age, level of education, farmers’ identity, the cognition degree of protection policy to the of prime farmland, the income proportion of household, agricultural income accounted for the proportion of household income, the quantity of cultivated land, the infrastructure of land and the price of agricultural materials are the main factors which influencing the farmers’ willingness of participating in the protection to prime farmland.
