The Study Of Degree Of Mineral Resource Guarantee In Altay Of Xinjiang Province

With the rapid development of China’s economy and society, the continuous rising of the extent of mineral resources exploitation and utilization, the imbalance in regional development, the contradiction of supply and demand of mineral resources expands and the contradiction between resources exploitation and environment protection is becoming increasingly prominent. Facing the strong momentum of economic development, the current focus of concern is how to recognize the new situation for the development and utilization of mineral resources, to realize balanced development between regions, and to achieve harmonious and sustainable development of the society. Based on the above mentioned reality, this paper selects Altay, an ethnic minority area, a border area located in northern part of Xinjiang province, an area in the middle of Altai metallogenic belt rich in ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, rare metals and precious metal mineral resources as its research object. An in-depth analysis will be conducted under the title:The Study of Degree of Mineral Resource Guarantee in Altay of Xinjiang Province.Theories of sustainable development, resource science, and regional economy are used in this thesis. Method of backward induction in industrial chainhas been applied to analyze the supply and demand situation of mineral resources in Altay on the base of the collection of abundant actual data of mineral resources exploitation and utilization in the area. And measures of ensuring supply of mineral resources are put forward. The chief contents of this thesis are as follow:1. Introduction of the general situation of mineral resources in AltayTaking the general situation in Altay as the research background, analyses of the characteristics of mineral resources of Altay, the reserves of major mineral resources, and the current situation and existing problems in exploration and exploitation of resources are done in this thesis.2. Analysis of guarantee degree of mineral resources in AltayAnalyses of the status of mining in local economy have been done to illustrate the situation of mining economy and its influence on Altay’s economy. Further analyses and predictions of the supply and demand situation of oil, gas, coal, ferrous metals (steel), nonferrous metals, precious metals, non-metallic mineral resources have been done based on the previous mentioned analyses. Also, ideas about the prospects of exploitation and cooperation in mineral resources have been put forward after synthetical analysis of situation of mineral resources exploitation and utilization in neighboring countries and regions.3. Measures of supply guarantee of mineral resources in AltayThis thesis tries to explore measures of ensuring supply of mineral resources from the macro level of mechanisms, policies, and organizations. Also suggestions of long-term and efficient supply of mineral resources have been proposed from aspects of resources, capital and technology, infrastructure construction, human resources and ecological environment.The results of this thesis are of certain reference value to the evaluation of the development of mining industry in Altay, Xinjiang, and the establishment of scientific and reasonable strategies in exploration, development, utilization and protection of mineral resources.
