A Study On The Stability Of Technology Alliance Based On Knowledge Sharing

Under the circumstance of fierce market competition, the enterprises tend to select thetechnology alliance to shorten the cycle of technology innovation, in order to adapt to the diverseneeds of customers. The issues about technology alliance have got attention of a large number ofscholars with wide implementation of technology alliance, especially the high failure rate ofalliance. It has become research hotspot in this field. The objective of technology alliance is toaccelerate technology innovation, and knowledge sharing is a key link in technology innovation. Sofrom the perspective of knowledge sharing, this paper analyzes the influence of knowledge sharingin technology alliance stability, and discusses the condition of technology alliance stability.At the beginning, this paper had a summary of related research and built conceptual model.There are three parts in this model: knowledge sharing factors, credible commitment andtechnology alliance stability. Related concepts have been defined, and the knowledge sharingfactors divided into three dimensions: the characteristics of knowledge, the characteristics ofalliance enterprises, the situation involved in the process of knowledge sharing. Every dimensionhas been divided in detail, the characteristics of knowledge include viscosity and transitivity ofknowledge, the characteristics of alliance enterprises include knowledge base, knowledge sharingintention, transfer capacity, absorptive capacity, the situation includes difference and relationshipbetween alliance enterprises. Besides this paper introduce credible commitment as mediator factorbetween knowledge sharing and technology alliance stability, investigating its role in therelationship between knowledge sharing and technology alliance stability. Based on above analyze,this paper puts forward relevant assumptions, then designs questionnaire according to assumptionand conduct investigation.Then, we analyze empirically the sample data by SPSS19.0to validate the conceptual modeland research assumption, it turned out:(1)there is no significant relationship between thecharacteristics of knowledge and technology alliance stability;(2) the characteristics of allianceenterprises had significant influence on technology alliance stability;(3) the situation involved inthe process of knowledge sharing had some significant effects on technology alliance stability;(4)the credible commitment had significant intermediary effect between knowledge sharing andtechnology alliance stability.Finally，according to the above research conclusion, this paper puts forward the followingsuggestions for maintaining the technology alliance stability:(1)the alliance should strengthen the communication between alliance partners;(2)the alliance should build different platform forknowledge sharing;(3) the alliance should pay more attention to the credible commitment;(4) theconflict-disposing mechanism and benefit distribution mechanism should be built. This paper hopesthat this suggestion could play a guiding role in maintaining technology alliance stability.
