The Research On Interest Coordinating Mechanism About West Lake Heritage Site Stakeholders

Tourism has become eye-catching sunrise industry in the world, and promote the commondevelopment of a series of related industries. World heritage tourism plays an important role in thetourism industry because of the World Heritage Resources has a higher popularity that attractstourists to a greater extent. China accounts for third place among the world cultural heritage of thecountry, so heritage tourism plays a vital role in china’s tourism industry undoubtedly. In theprocess of development and protection of the world cultural heritage tourism, it will involve theinterests of many stakeholders. So how to balance the interests of stakeholders has become animportant factor whether the World Cultural Heritage can achieve sustainable development.In this paper, the author uses the stakeholder theory to research the interests coordinatingmechanism of stakeholders for West Lake heritage site. Firstly, the author defines the relevantconcepts of stakeholders, cultural tourism and interest coordinating mechanism through literaturestudy, providing some theoretic support and basis for this study. Then uses expert interviews andquestionnaires to investigate the interests of the West Lake Heritage site of the world culturalheritage stakeholders, the classification, and core stakeholder interest demands empirically. Andthen use SPSS21.0to analyze the survey data and verify assumptions. According to the survey, wefind there are seven relevant stakeholders for West Lake Heritage site, and which can be dividedinto core stakeholders, dormant stakeholders and potential stakeholders three categories throughthree dimensions of the initiative, the importance and urgency. By analyzing the core stakeholders’interest demands, the author found that all stakeholders have their own specific interests andaspirations. Finally, the author proposes a interest coordinating mechanism for the sustainabledevelopment of West Lake Heritage site, which contains of setting common values, formatting clearroles, facilitating collaboration integration between the various stakeholders, establishingcommunication mechanism and surveillance mechanism, aims to achieve sustainable developmentof West Lake Heritage site eventually.
