Achieving socialist modernization andbuilding a well-off society in an all-round way is to make the coordinated development ofurban and rural areas, our country has formed a typical urban-rural dual structure for a longtime due to various reasons such as history, system, culture, and etc. the relationship is in astate of imbalance between urban and rural areas in our country, especially the problems oflarge urban and rural residents income gap, has become a bottleneck to the development ofthe whole national economy and become the obstacle in a steady scientific developmentwhich has become the problems need to solve. therefore, we need to analyze the incomegap between urban and rural areas, taking measures to balance the income gap betweenurban and rural areas, and taking urban and rural development as a whole, this is not onlyneed to realize the coordinated development of the our country economy, but realize theintegration of urban and rural development of our country’s. In the current situation, to lookback at the Marxism basic theory, to study classic interpretation of the Marxist theory ofincome distribution, it is reasonable for us to solve the problem of Changchun city urban andrural gap that has important practical significance.In this paper, we makes the provincial capital Changchun city of Jilin province as theresearch object, basing on Marx’s theory of income distribution theory as the basic theory,using Lewis’ dual economy theory and its extension theory as the theory reference, with theobjective scientific attitude seriously, uniting the current situation of urban and ruralresidents income gap of Changchun city and other local factors, analysis and research thenarrow the income gap between urban and rural areas to promote the coordinateddevelopment of urban and rural problems, put forward a series of countermeasures andmeasures of more targeted and practical value.First of all, this article puts forward the necessity and importance of researching theoverall urban and rural development and narrowing the income gap between urban and ruralareas, briefly expounds the domestic and foreign research of urban and rural developmentand the income gap between urban and rural areas and discusses the relevant theory. Secondly, analyzed the data of rural residents’ disposable income of the Changchun city inthe recent20years and at the same time with the national average income for a horizontalcomparison research, discovered that more particularity of Changchun city. And more, inline with found out the problems, research questions, serious and responsible attitude inresearching Changchun city which is located in the northeast old industrial base.
