High-technology industry is one of the most important industries which to promote thedevelopment of the national economy and the international competitiveness. The developmentof traditional industries need a lot of natural resources, but the high-technology industry morerelies on the improvement of the innovation of science and technology. The promotion of theinnovation performance is the main factor which forces the industry has a rapid development.We want to research which factors have the impact on the innovation performance of thehigh-tech industry, and how to be more efficiency to promote the innovation performance ofhigh-tech industry has become the focus of this study. The main contents of this paper are:Firstly, do a simple introduction to the high technology industry and the relevanttheoretical of innovation performance, after the reorganization of a large number of domesticand foreign literatures in this field, we can understand the current research status, summarizethe existing conclusions and deficiencies found possible, ready for further empirical studies.Secondly, based on the data of "Chinese Statistical Yearbook on high-technologyindustry", we introduce the present condition of the development of high-technology industryin China, mainly from the following aspects: the development of the high-technology industry,the scale evolution of high-technology industry, the structure division of high-technologyindustry and the comparison about international performance of high-technology industrybetween China and in major developed countries. At the same time, we also introduce theinnovation performance change trend of Chinese high-technology industry in1996-2012.Thirdly, use the data after the unit root test, cointegration test and error analysis, todetermine if the selected data samples are fitted for calculating, using panel data models toanalysis the relationship between variables and the independent variable. According to therelated data of five industries which are constructed for the5Semi-parameter models, analyzethe relationship between the factors of innovation performance in each industry with theindependent variable. Through the contrast of the coefficient to research the differences invarious factors which influence on innovation performance of different industries. We choosea specific enterprise to have an interview, to prove the empirical results from the microscopicpoint of view based on macro data.In this paper, through the empirical analysis, we understood how the various indicatorsinfluence the innovation performance of China’s high-technology industry in the development,and found some problems which exist in our country in the process of high-technologyindustry development, the make suggestions can be the followings:(1) Increase the investmentand management of R&D funds;(2) Strengthen the high-technology talent absorption anddevelop;(3) Strengthen the control of exports;(4) Pay attention to the diversity channels ofgovernment supports;(5) Protect the security of technology innovations. We hope that throughthis study, it can be more efficient to promote the innovation performance of high-techindustry in our country, and the industry will have a long-term sustainable development.
