It has a prominent role on productivity enhancement and production cycle reduction as well as quality cost.The printed circuit board company the author in belongs to the typical processing enterprises. In the face of the appreciation of the RMB, rising cost of raw materials and labor costs, it’s struggling to survive. After closed both Germany and Brazil facilities, top management adjusted the company’s strategy from differentiation to low cost. How to use TQM theory to improve product yield and reduce quality cost, can say it is an indispensable part of core competitiveness and crucial to the company.This paper first expounds the definition of TQM development course, the guiding ideology of "three more than one" and the eight principles of TQM; And then made a brief introduction on company’s organizational structure and manufacture process, adopt internal research to summarize the previous main issues in yield improvement activity; Combination with the guidance of TQM principles, provide corresponding improvement scheme in terms of system, methods, people; Finally made comprehensive evaluation from the comparison before and after improvement.The innovation of this paper is to break the traditional yield improvement just focusing on process capability, and neglected the system, methodology and personnel incentive effect, we believe it can give some reference to the domestic counterparts in printed circuit board in dealing with the same issue.
