Development of market economy intensifies competition in the construction industry, meanwhile, with the constant expansion of modern construction projects’ scale, difficulties of construction technology and requirements to its quality have increasingly grown and construction management are more and more complex and difficult, Thus, traditional management concepts and measures have been unable to meet the requirements of rapid development. Construction enterprises must implement management innovation and informatization construction to improve enterprise management, reduce costs and improve efficiency with methods of modern technologies.In order to adapt to current circumstances of construction market, Jinan Sijian Construction Group has cooperated with China Academy of Building Research to develop Enterprise’s PKPM Integrated Information Management System based upon actual requirements and application status, in consideration of check points and contents of "Standard Informatization Evaluation on Special Qualification for General Contracting of Housing Construction Projects".This article, by making a number of instance analyses, has drawn a conclusion that Enterprise’s PKPM Integrated Information Management System mainly addresses three critical issues which enterprises are currently confronted with: management, business and decision support. In aspect of management, it takes long and proceeds slow by means of traditional manual delivery; information is delayed and becomes out of date when subsidiaries or branches receive it. After informatization is constructed, information is delivered fast and can be classified, summarized and collected, which is convenient for enterprises’ decision makers and managers to know actual status of projects in time. Meanwhile such information system integrates resource management system avoiding any overlaps caused by information resources disunity. In aspect of business, the implementation of information system effectively lessens the burden of business department and reduces the workload of manual labors. Repeated calculation is performed by computer systems, which liberates workforces from multifarious calculations to pay more attention to business management and ensures the accuracy, reliability and promptness of original business data. In aspect of decision support, enterprise information-based management system used can track the summarized information rapidly, keep decision makers and managers informed of actual status of project implementation, provide good decision support and relevant statistic indicators for decision makers and managers and provide decision reference for projects implementation and operation rapidly.Enterprise’s PKPM Integrated Information Management System is mainly composed of the following components:1. Basic Hardware, Security Network and Informatization Soft Environment Construction2. Construction of Foundation Platform3. Enterprise Information Portal (EIP)4.Construction of Office Automation System (OA)5. Integrated Project Management (PM)6. Human Resources Management (HR)7. Archives Management8. Finance Management (FM)9. Design Management System10. Decision Support System (DSS)System design is optimized in consideration of current management status of construction enterprises as well as relevant standards, management objectives, informatization requirements. It covers dynamic management of the entire process, from tender analysis, construction management to enterprise’s performance control, reputation guarantee over the life circle of a construction project, achieving the collaborative work between enterprise and all projects.As an outstanding general construction contractor of Shandong Province, Jinan Sijian Construction Group always adheres to the management concepts of "High Quality, Refining and Low Cost", and speeds up the transformation and upgrade by application for Special Qualification for General Contracting of Housing Construction Projects. Informatization construction is not only an important indicator for special qualification for general contracting but also a specific implementation scheme for management improvement, management costs reduction, management measures optimization. The enterprise, vigorously promoting the construction and application of information system, has achieved collective operation and construction projects, human resources management, archives management, e-commerce, centralized management of knowledge management data, global sharing etc., of which collective operation and construction projects are taken as the core of integrated information management. It fulfills the requirements of all levels of management&operation and construction projects in the group, enhances the management and control of the group over each business segments, regional projects and provides data analysis and support for our group leaders’decision making and construction projects’ supervision and management.
