Social Space Research Of Mature Coal Resource-based City:Structure,Function,Transition And Restructuring

With the transition of western human geography to new human geography, conception of space has been textualized and become the analytical native material by geographers, space has been defined as the reflection of politics, economy and culture’s process, and spatial analysis can disclose profound social process. In recent years, with the influence of "people oriented" and postmodernism, urban space’s research by domestic and foreign urban geography scholars has experienced the transition from material space to social space. At present, globalization, marketization, informatization, mobile informationization and intelligence has played a vital role in the restructuring of China urban space, at the same time urbanization has changed to the welfare model, especially layed emphasis on the "people oriented" process. Development trend of theory and practical needs of national conditions have made urban social space become the research hotspot of urban geography, urban planning and urban sociology.Take the case study of Huainan in Anhui province, based on the sixth nationwide population consus data, depth interview and questionnaire survey, use statistic analysis, multiple regression analysis, geographical weighted regression model, multiple logistic model and qualitative research method to discuss and analyze the social space’s structure, function, transition and restructruring.The article can be divided into three sections:The first part is research’s basic background analysis, which reviews the relevant progress from domestic and foreign, introduces research background, contents, thoughts, methods, technical route and so on, and introduces related conceptions and basic theories.The second part systematically analyzes social space of typical mature coal resource-based city from four aspects:First, based on street data of the sixth nationwide population census, taking Huainan city as an example, using factor ecological analysis to research the social spatial structure model of coal resource-based city in mature period, dividing the social areas into (1)government agencies, intellectual resources and non-resource industry practitioner residential area,;(2)low education, agriculture and poor area;(3)general wage earners and retirees residential areas;(4)initial processing of coal resources practitioners residential area;(5) coal resources mining and exploration practitioners residential area;(6) deep processing of coal resources practitioners residential area. Based on the spatial character of the social zone and empirical research, using model abstraction to summarize the social spatial structure model of Huainan city:"city-coal-country" ternary structure is notable,"east city-west coal-marginal country" space isolation character is notable;"city area" is concentric circles and circular sector;"coal area" is enclave groups,"country area" is discrete of marginalization.Second, based on social space’s perspective to discern and simulate the regional function structure of Huainan city. Results indicate that six principal divisors which constitute social spatial structure have a heterogeneous spatial agglomeration level and block distribution pattern. Huainan’s regional function structure includes:(1)government, enterprise and public institution cluster;(2)dwell, commerce, life service cluster;(3)coal mining and process cluster;(4)new sources of economic growth and transformation development cluster;(5)non-mineral occurrence and rural cluster. Stimulate regional function strucrure of Huainan in the future contains characters as follows:government, enterprise and public institution cluster will not take notable change; dwell, commerce, life service cluster will show a zonary and ploycentric pattern; coal mining and process cluster will be mainly jumping oriented; non-mineral occurrence and rural cluster will become fragmentation and decentralization; new sources of economic growth and transformation development cluster will combine the resource endogenous and intelligence exgeneity.Third, based on the principal factors of social spatial structure to analyze social space’s transformative differentiation and influence factors. Results indicate that polarization effect of social space has not been formed, integral condition reflects mode’s simplification, path dependence and concepts’ hysteresis; administrative clerk and businessmen, graduate degree population,20-39years old men, external floating population and buying commercial residential building are the five factors which promote the transition of Huainan. Transition path has changed from single way to multiple ways such as service, technical, innovation and so on. Sevice industry promotes country commerce and agriculture modernization, youths lead the social culture and deepen coal industry,external floating persons tertiary industry ploybasic and replace industry are effective paths which will promote transition of Huainan city.Last, based on the "sence" standpoint, with the help of production of space and structure theory, try combining "space’s reappear" with "reappear space" to dissect the restructuring character of Huainan in the mature stage. Then, based on the structure-active perspective bulid the interaction between urban policy and residents’ migration, summarize the mechanism which includes coal resource-based city’s historic inherit and residents’ space cognization; country policy and institution and residents’ social space; coal enterprises’ policy transition and residents’s social attribute; urban policy and planning matches residents’ social attribute produces "space optimization" and "steric hindrance".Third part is epilogue, summarizes the main conclusions and views, points out the limitation of the study and futher researchers in the future.
