The further development of economic globalization has spawned a rapid growth of international trade and fierce trade disputes.) Over the past30years, China has become the largest country in trading all over the world, and made irreplaceable contributions to the world economy. But China has also become the country which experienced the most trade disputes for18years, which also means that China has to face more trade remedy measures with large amount of money involved. The frequently disputes towards China not only affect the development of China’s foreign trade, but also become a big challenges for China to become a strong trading nation. What’s more, the initiator of trade disputes towards China has spread from developed to developing countries, with different features in trends, industries and measures taken. And that will also exert different effects on the long-term development of China’s foreign trade. Therefore, the strategy study on China’s tackling trade friction coming from different countries, especially from developed and developing countries, has great theoretical and practical meaning. After learning literature about trade frictions of foreign and domestic, this paper runs a comparative analysis on trade remedy investigations coming from developed and developing countries, which will contain comparison of industries, measures and motivation. And conclusions are drawn as follows.Firstly, from the perspective of trade quantity and amount, the total number of cases initiated by developed countries shows a weak downward trend, but that in developing countries is going to be higher. The amount of money involved in single case shows a growth trend, but that in developing is opposite.Secondly, in terms of industries that involved, developed countries prefer to high-technology industries, while developing countries pay more focus on traditional manufacturing.Thirdly, in terms of trade remedy measures that taken, developed countries prefer to anti-dumping and countervailing, while developing countries are more interested in anti-dumping and safeguard measure. At the end, when turn to motivations, the disputes between developed countries and China are largely caused by developed countries’high trade deficit, while the disputes between China and other developing countries are due to the protectionism of domestic industries.According to the above study, this paper suggests that we should work together to deal with trade disputes, and take different measures towards different countries.Firstly, in response to trade disputes, the Chinese government should try best to support its international trade, industry associations are supposed to improve their organizational capabilities, and enterprises should enhance their business management.Secondly, in dealing with trade disputes initiated by the developed countries, Chinese are supposed to study international practice and laws, improve the technology of export products, and reduce political interference. And if necessary, China may establish alliances to deal with trade disputes with other developing countries.Thirdly, as to other developing countries, their economic development is relatively backward, and their domestic laws and regulations need to be improved. Moreover, they have a complex business environment. Therefore, when dealing with this kind of trade disputes, on the one hand we should improve trade structure and take their interests in consideration; on the other hand we also need to develop a greater dispersion of the international market, and seek to resolve trade disputes in the international platform. The innovation of this paper lies in two aspects. One is that through comparative analysis on trade remedy investigations coming from developed and developing countries, the paper propose differentiated coping strategies for different sources of trade remedy investigations. Another is that through the study of the correlation between trade remedy investigations against China and China’s foreign trade, the paper search for root cause of trade disputes. While this paper has study the dominant trade friction problem caused by anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard measure, the relationship between China’s foreign trade and implicit trade friction, which contains technical barriers to trade, intellectual property and social responsibility, is still need to explore.
