With the logistics industry opening up and foreign-funded enterprises participating in the competition of the logistics industry, local logistics enterprises are facing new challenges. How to improve the competitiveness of logistics enterprises is an issue which entrepreneurs and scholars concern. How to measure the efficiency and total factor growth of logistics in recent years attracted so many scholars to study. There are five parts in this thesis. After reviewing the history of related theory, this thesis analyses the total factor productivity growth of34logistics enterprises during2008-2012using stochastic frontier production function model based on the comparison between DEA method and stochastic frontier approach. Then some suggestions are given according to the main conclusions. The main conclusions are as follows:TFP played an important role in promoting the growth of the logistics industry output value, the average contribution to output growth was19.04%. The technical efficiency of34logistics enterprises is0.24894, at a low level. There is still a large room for improvement by75.1%. By comparing the different scopes of business of logistics enterprises, we find that warehousing, handling and transport agents, road transport logistics enterprises show positive growth of TPFG, while rail transport, water transport and air transport have negative growth. Comparative analysis of different scale logistics enterprises showed that the level of total factor productivity growth of logistics enterprises will become larger as the size of the business decline. From the regional point of view, the level of total factor productivity growth has a positive relation with the level of regional economic development. Logistics enterprises can improve the total factor productivity growth and enhance corporate value by improving the perfect the system of innovation, actively developing modern logistics, strengthening market-oriented logistics, adjusting scope of business and vigorously developing human resources.
