As people’s awareness of insurance increasing and the level of income gradually improving, Life insurance in China is currently in a phase of flourishing. Each life insurance company in market use a variety of channels to introduce insurance product to new target customers competitively, such as WeChat, WeiBo and the other new media, it provides tremendous opportunities for life insurance companies to expand the size of the premium.However, while premium income in the company is pursuing, all life insurance companies are experiencing a unavoidable problem, that is the underwriting risk is increasing, policy claims incidence of actuarial pricing beyond a predetermined range, the company run into trouble. So, the underwriting risk management is the key to the life insurance business continuity, sound operation and maintenance.Based on the risk management theory, using the method of case studies, from the analysis of C Life Insurance Company underwriting risk management status and the characteristics of the current problems that exist in the work, this paper carries out in-depth analysis and research and summarizes the underwriting risk management loopholes.From a risk selection point of view, choosing the theme of the life insurance business management processes, based on risk management, customer value theory and asymmetric information theory principles, combined with C Life Insurance Company’s actual situation, this paper puts forward for the company to explore the characteristics of a viable underwriting risk management recommendations. Starting from risk identification capabilities, improving management of customer notification, strengthen risk management and controling sales staff to improve the quality of underwriting risk management, all this aspects will ensure safety of company to help company more competitive in the life insurance market.
