The online auction is a wide range of applications in the area of e-commerce, which achieves traditional auction transactions and breaks the constraints of the traditional trading floor and the participants by network platform. As a result of breaking the geographical and time constraints and reducing the auction cost, online auction gradually highlights the importance of e-commerce and also has achieved a surprising development in recent years.The research on online auction theory and method has become a topic of great concern at home and abroad. Owing to the particularity of online auctions, such as virtuality of online trading, asymmetric information of C2C business model, there are many new problems and challenges on the auction mechanism design, management and operation. Therefore, the theoretical analysis and research for these acts, the collection of actual data at the same time, analysis and excavation on auction behaviors provide important support on theoretical research.This research gives service to the National Natural Science Foundation Key Project "study on theory, model and method of online auctions". An auction web site was designed and developed for scientific research, which provides a software platform to analyze experimental data and verify the study results. The main work of this paper as followings:(1) Stage of the accumulation on theoretical knowledge and relevant skills:On the basis of domestic and foreign literature, technical characteristics and status of the platform on the Internet auction site was reviewed and analyzed from all aspects of the system feasibility.(2) Based on the theory of auction system and e-commerce, the various functions in accordance with the characteristics of online auctions were achieved. Demand analysis of this auction sites were conducted. The system was described by the UML language. Auction site module documents were designed in detail. The database structure was designed through the analysis on physical contact in the system; for practical purposes, the layout and style of the user interface was designed detailed.(3) When it came to actual coding phase, according to the module documents and database models, specific online auction site development work was processed based on NET-based platform, the Asp.net,SQL language, and3-tier B/S structure.(4) In order to solve the information overload problem and help consumers find the auction that they may be of interest to in a large number of auctions. a personalized recommendation system was designed for the auction site, and an appropriate algorithm was selected and tested.
