Under The Global Value Chain, Aresearch Of Telecom Operators FDI Strategy

With the process of economic globalization，international investment and trade environment haschanged dramatically,which also provide opportunities for Chinese enterprises "going out". As thebasic industry of our country’s economy, the telecommunications industry need to seize thisopportunity to integrate communications industry chain resources, build communication industryglobal value chain.Foreign direct investment is the important way for telecom operators to realizeinternationalization. For the purpose of building the telecom industry global value chain, the paperfocuses on analyzing the successful experience of overseas expansion of the foreign advancedtelecom operators combining with the foreign direct investment theory. The foreign investmentscale of China’s telecom operators is smaller, the data is limited, so we only make a qualitativeanalysis. Based on foreign experience and the domestic situation, putting forward the correspondingcountermeasures and suggestions for China telecom operators’s overseas development.The core content of the article contains three parts. The first is the evaluation research ofadvanced foreign telecom operators’s development experience in overseas markets. Based on thetheory of foreign direct investment, the paper analyses the overseas market development of theforeign advanced telecom operators in three aspects: investment motivation, investment strategy,investment flow.At the same time,through using the gray theory to analyze the related panel datacollected, the paper gets the factors of overseas investment strategy and location selection oftelecom operators. The second is the analysis of China telecom market structure based onglobalization. Based on the status quo of telecom industry in China, the paper analyses the necessityand feasibility of the internationalization of Chinese telecom enterprises combined with the globalvalue chain. The third is the foreign direct investment strategy of Chinese telecom operators on thebasis of foreign experience and analysis of the domestic situation.The investment can be dividedinto investment to less developed countries, investment to the country of similar culture, investmentto the developed countries. Based on these, the paper put forward the corresponding suggestions incombination with the practical situation of China’s telecom operators’ overseas development.
