Transit city is the key important concept caused by the growing urban transport congestion in the Nation’s12th Five-Year Plan, and the fist step of the program will be deployed in30cities all round the nation. Pedestrian Navigation is the killer application for supporting Transit city, and it plays a catalysis role in the City Transportation System Plan leading by the government.Frist, as the basic concept of Map and Navigation for the starting point, the paper introduces the industry status and nation policy for the strict, especially for the core materials of Basic Navigation Maps. At the same time, according to the background of Mobile Internet, it says the development status of the Personal Navigation System in the area. At the analysis of the market segment and industry situation, it brings in the concept of Pedestrian Navigation, and discusses the feasibility in the present business environment.Next,it introduces the demand for Pedestrian Navigation System background and development at home and abroad of a detailed analysis, and it highlights the architecture and key technologies of the system. Analysis on the mature Business Model of the LBS deeply, and summarize the uniqueness of the sucussful cases, giving the suitable development mode for PNS. Meanwhile, the core issue is business development on the service, it displays several customized methods for the PNS in the Mobile Internet days.Finally, the theme of the times and the nature of the pedestrian navigation applications, promote transit city building ideas, travel philosophy of slow traffic, green travel, low carbon travel to make their social responsibility. It also gives the outlook and summary of the PNS.
