As an important part of the service sector, logistics industry is becoming an importantareas to promoting economic development and upgrading the optimization of industrialstructure, which also implementing the economic development strategy of expanding domesticdemand.Recent years, the importance of the logistics industry in the national economy andsocial development has become increasingly prominent. However, the efficiency of logisticsenterprises in China is not high, which hindering its supporting role in China’s economicdevelopment. Therefore,it is particularly urgent to further improve the efficiency of logisticsenterprises. To evaluating the efficiency of logistics enterprises, Firstly, on the basis of domestic andforeign research, combined with logistics characteristics, establishing a logistics enterprisesinvested output efficiency evaluation system. Then selected17listed companies in Shanghaiand Shenzhen as samples, including eight port enterprises and nine transportation andwarehousing enterprises.Choosing fixed assets, wages, cost of main business variables asinputs, main business revenue and gross profit as the output variables for17logisticsenterprises listed in2005-2011.Doing a descriptive statistics to the input-output variables invarious logistics enterprises among various years.Secondly, the method of Data Envelopment Analyzed (DEA) is used in the thesis. Basedon it, the efficiency of Chinese logistics enterprises is evaluated by establishing the input andouput index system. The paper computes technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency andscale efficiency of the seventeen logistics providers from2005to2011.Then,using theDEA-Solver pro5.0software to do the super-efficiency measure for the technical efficiencyequals1and re-ranking.Thirdly, The Total Factor Productivity (TFP) index of listed logistics companies amongseven years were measured by DEA-based Malmquist productivity index. Calculated thetechnical efficiency index, the index of technological change, scale efficiency index, puretechnical efficiency index and total factor productivity index and analyze among all aspectssuch as longitudinal, dynamic, classification and different regions. Finally, the paper put forward some suggestions to raise the operational efficiency on thebasis of efficiency values and regression in technical efficiency, scale efficiency and regionallogistics efficiency.
